*Millie and Stan are fictitious characters that are being developed for a bigger project.
It’s such a joy to see your face again…Stan wrote this on a piece of paper. He wrote songs and doubled as a greeting card caption writer. He was thinking about writing a song about the female childhood neighbor that he was reconnecting with, after 20 years.
Time has been kind to your face…he wrote as the second line. I have a bouquet of flowers for you… I included a short note with it…He figured that with each phrase in this song he was writing, he could use the same material as greeting card captions.
Wouldn’t it be nice to go dancing? He continued to write. Don’t worry, you could look at your feet to keep count… Anytime Stan had some free time, he wrote something about his childhood neighbor friend. Millie was her name. I saw you sanding down an antique picture frame…I have pictures I just took of you…They’d be perfect for your frame…
Stan saw that there was no ring on Millie’s finger. She had come back to her childhood home to take care of her mother and father. Stan temporarily stayed at his parents home when he wanted to take a break from the big city life. He watched all the television re-runs or his favorite shows, snacked on cookies and milk and just made himself at home.
